1930's TUBE TESTER Supreme Model 89 Deluxe

Description: This is from the times when resistors were hand wired and switches were made from laminated sheets screwed together. A piece of fine craftsmanship representing endless hours of tender loving labor to manufacture finest quality instruments. A true museums piece that could be yours. I was unable to find any information on this instrument and believe it to be rare. This is a piece of equipment encompassing the spirit of a magical time of mysterious inventions and exciting technology long gone.

Price: $375 Lot: Tube tester in wooden case with all tubes in internal sockets, attached cables.

See also: Usable test equipment: tube tester

Features: Tube Tester, Volt and Ohm meter. Will get the specifics, if you e-mail, but I think of it more as a museums piece than a usable instrument, as it features tube sockets that I haven't used in a quite a while....

Condition: Cosmetics: case 6/10, Tester 8-9/10. Everything is basically good, though there is no instructions or settings book, no plug in probes for the sockets of the volt and Ohm meters. The tester itself is in good condition, no scratches, all lettering intact, Neon Lamp tube though (left) loose in socket, but still connected; original leather handle of case missing, swelling and visible water stains from plant pot on outer case, top, case inside: clean

AIR - KING wire recorder / turn table, amplifier

Description: This is old! The predecessor of tape recorders as we knew them are: wire recorders. This unit records on steel wire (higher fidelity than tape!). This unit was everything in one place: recorder, turn table and amplifier usable as PA system as the Microphone can be switched to be amplified. Unit has a built in speaker and cable to attach an external speaker.

Condition: The case shows some signs of neglect: (5-6/10) scratches, paint, tears at the corners of cover material. The left hinge for the lid is broken off at the bottom case. The mechanics themselves however are almost spotless: one finer scratch, a couple fine rust spots, paint and lettering clean. The Microphone has been cut off though. It's bare wires are seen. If it works I don't know, because I only turn equipment on when I have time to work on it. This unit has set on my project shelf for more than 8 years due to too many urged projects in my life.

Features: Crystal cartridge with steel needle, 78 RPM (only) turn table, Panel: Pilot lamp (Red glass), OFF/Volume, Selector: PLAYWIRE - PHONO - MICROPHONE, Function lever (rear): RECORD - OFF - PLAY-REWIND, Button: "Press to engage switch in record position"; built in speaker
